Zakat al Fitr
The Islamic Information Center, operating under the patronage of Dar Al Ber Society, has launched a Zakat al-Fitr initiative, with a portion dedicated to supporting new Muslims. This initiative aims to provide essential assistance to new members of the Muslim community during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
New Muslims living in groups and families can apply to reserve their bags of rice.

Can I bring friends or family?
Yes! Whether they are Muslim or not, they are welcome to join our programs, including Iftar gatherings and educational sessions.
Is there a cost to participate?
No, all experiences are completely free. Our goal is to support and guide you through your Ramadan journey.
I’m still learning about Islam—can I join even if I’m unfamiliar with prayers and fasting?
Absolutely! Our programs are designed for New Muslims at all levels. You’ll learn about fasting, prayers, and the meaning of Ramadan in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Will there be someone to guide me through the experience?
Yes! We have mentors, teachers, and volunteers who will help you understand Ramadan, answer your questions, and guide you through prayers and traditions.
What if I have trouble fasting due to health reasons?
If you have health concerns, you are not required to fast. Islam allows exceptions for those who are sick or unable to fast, and we can guide you on alternative acts of worship you can do instead.
How can I learn more about Ramadan and Islam?
You can attend our online or onsite classes, access our e-library, or request a free Quran translation to deepen your understanding of Islam and Ramadan.
